Bulldozer Training
Bulldozer Course Description
Bulldozers are called on for a variety of work. Backfilling around
foundations and other structures; dressing slopes; cutting V-ditches;
piling brush and debris; clearing rubble. Sometimes even rough
excavating.
Bulldozer: Level I
For operators with little or no experience operating a bulldozer (30 hours).
- Performing walk-around inspections
- Using proper terms and definitions associated with the bulldozer
- Using proper safety procedures
- Performing rough ditching and spreading
- Performing ripping operations
- Cutting and building a gentle-slope bench
- Using the bulldozer on unstable soil
- Replacing cutting edges on blades and teeth on rippers
- OSHA and industry safety standards
OCPO Approved 3 TU'S (30 Hours).
Bulldozer: Level II
For national certification of bulldozer operators (30 hours).
- Performing excavation in confined space
- Constructing an elevated roadway
- Performing finish work
- Moving large obstructions. Performing bulldozing operations on a slope
- identifying and repairing drainage problems
- Stockpiling materials
- Use of a transit and hand level to create a 3:1 slope
- OSHA, MSHA and industry safety standards
