Excavator & Track Hoe Course Description;
The term excavator is sometimes used as a general term for any piece
of digging equipment. Tracked excavators are sometimes called track hoes. Excavators are used in many roles such as digging (trenches, holes, foundations etc.), demolition, General grading/landscaping, heavy lifting (e.g. lifting and placing of pipes River dredging etc.).
Excavator & Track hoe
- For operators who have met the requirements of Level II Backhoe (30 hours)
- Performing a pre-trip inspection
- Using proper terms and definitions associated with the excavator/track hoe
- Pivoting to avoid obstructions
- Working on a slope
- Trenching procedures
- Crossing a trench
- Materials handling and placement
- Benching
- OSHA and industry safety standards
