Scraper Course Description
Scrapers are used on many different types of excavation and construction projects including: road building: mining: dam construction; industrial plant development: and building of canals, dikes, and levees,. Scrapers can be used efficiently where any large amount of material must be moved. many variations of the scraper exist. Some of the earlier scrapers were mounted on four wheels and drawn by a tractor (or bulldozer). Today most scrapers are self propelled. The scraper is undoubtedly the most efficient piece of equipment that has been developed.
Scraper:
This course is designed for operators with little or no experience (30hours):
- Performing a pre-trip inspection
- Using proper terms and definitions associated with the scraper, cutting, and loading
- Moving fill to fill area
- Spreading
- Stripping topsoil and stockpiling
- Finish grading a pad
- Replacing cutting edge and side bits
- OSHA and industry safety standards
